Jessica, a 16 year old sweet girl. Very cheerful and humorous. So delightful among all. Regular performer at school theatre. Always responsive with the teachers in class. Grade is good. Teachers are satisfied with her class performance. Usually no reporting to her parents.

For last six and half months her grades is getting down. Repeated reporting from school regarding to class progress and even regarding to her class presence percentage is making her parents anxious. Physically she is well. No problem is there. She is getting depressed day by day. Her performance is also becoming alarming in shape. Sometimes she is found weeping at her room. Parents are finding no clue to her gradual decrease of performance. They got appointed with a psychologist. He said the girl is suffering from depressive illness.

It is one type of mental illness. Almost every person suffers from depression at any moment during his life period even for a very little span of time. But when a person starts to suffer chronically from depression and it starts to hamper his or her daily routine activities then it is considered as depressive illness. Person suffering from depressive illness, usually reluctant in taking their meals. For example, they get up from bed late; avoid breakfast that is important for whole day refreshment. So don’t avoid your usual meals.

Depression usually breakdown the creative energy of a person. Person feels reluctant from those subjects which he felt previously interesting. There is a negative link between these two. So always try to be honest while talking to your Doctor: only doctors can offer the best advice for treatment if you tell them your problems clearly. So, never conceal anything, (even you feel it is silly), from doctors. You will get the best support from them during the time of depression.
